Application
Constant hangers are ideal for applications in which vertical movements of the piping are to take place without being restricted by rigid support elements. They are used when spring hangers are not suitable due to the large load deviations between cold and hot loads. Constant hangers are particularly suitable for sensitive connection points or critical piping components, as they minimize additional loads and offer high precision.
Function
By means of the lever arms, lever arm geometries and spring combinations, a constant load ensures that a constant support force is applied over the entire nominal travel range. This is achieved through the interaction of spring torque and load torque:
- The spring moment (spring force x spring lever arm) and the load moment (supporting load x load arm) are turning around the main pivot.
- At upward and downward movement the system variables spring force, spring lever arm and load lever arm ensure the balance of moments between spring moment and load moment in any position This generates a constant supporting load.
Thanks to this sophisticated design, the constant hanger ensures precise and constant support – regardless of movements or load changes.
